1. 围绕城市改革和发展方面的理论和实际问题，开展研究和交流活动，以促进国内城市之间和国内外城市之间的信息交流和经济文化联系；
　　 2. 根据研究会的宗旨，办好《中国城市战略网》为促进城市的改革和发展提供信息，交流经验，积累资料；对城市发展战略、发展规划、城市生态环境建设，城市管理和其它与城市发展有关的重大理论与实践问题组织有关专家、学者进行专题研究。
　　 3. 接受各城市和有关单位的委托，进行调查研究，为城市发展的各类问题提供咨询服务；
　　 4. 围绕城市发展中的共性和现实"热点"问题，组织专题讨论，提出研究成果，供决策层参考；
　　 5. 举办讲座、培训班，培训有志于对城市发展问题研究的人才和城市高级管理干部，提高领导干部的城市管理水平和执政的实际能力；
　　 6. 组织本会会员，就城市发展方面的有关问题，进行对外学术交流考察活动。

CUDI occupational activities： 1. Around the themes and practical issues of the cities reform and development，to develop study and exchange activities，to promote the information exchange and economy culture association among the domestic cities and between Chinese and foreign cities. 2. According to the CUDI tenet, make "Urban Strategy Network of China" run well to offer information, accumulate data and exchange experience for promoting city reform and development. 3. To organize the specialists and scholars to put up monographic study on urban development strategy, development planning, urban ecological environment construction, city management and other important themes and practical issues regarding urban development. Accept commissions from cities and enterprises to put up investigating and researching, to offer advisory service on urban development issues. 4. Around the common and hot issues on urban development, organizes monographic discussion to offer the study result to leaders reference. 5. To hold lectures and courses to cultivate urban operators and administrators. 6. 城市发展研究系列丛书 二十一世纪是城市化的世纪。在全球经济一体化、城市竞争国际化、中国社会逐步城镇化的新形式下，我们中际国际城市发展研究院和中国城市战略网共同成立城市发展研究丛书编委会，组织编写城市问题研究系列丛书。该套丛书主要包括《城市的表现》、《缔造城市运营商》、《城市CI》,将由中共中央党校出版社出版。 《城市的表现》内容简介 《城市的表现》是该系列丛书中的第一部。该书拟分七个部分：历史的表现、文化的表现、新闻的表现、设计的表现、权威的表现、政府的表现、经营的表现。该书对于科学研究、文化传播都具有极其重大的意义。
